Upgrade
DOMICO is proud to
announce a major upgrade to DOMICO Software- Release
2009.
As with most major
software companies, here at DOMICO Software, development work never
ceases. The development team, under the able leadership of Mr. Rob
Ainscough, Director of Development, continues to fix bugs and make
enhancements to improve functionality. This work is only a portion
of what is involved with ongoing research and development activities.
There are also two major testing cycles always in play, both internal
testing that we term “alpha” testing, and field or “beta”
testing.
The initial result
of this work may be called “patches” or “interim releases.” If there
actually is a bothersome problem, our support team may well decide that
the best solution for a given customer is to provide them with a
patch.
At some point, we
believe it is best to make what we call a major release. It motivates us
to update all of our documentation and generally get our customers and
ourselves all on the same “wavelength.” DOMICO Software- Release 2009 is
such a major release.
Many sites will have already
had installed interim versions of this
software.
Since the last
major release, we have added many new features and functions. We have also
improved many existing aspects of the software. The full release notes are
available on our website. Here are just a few highlights:

Passwords- we have added
some special passwords options that further refine our already superior
controls. For example, we have created the ability to limit a user from
reversing a payment. But even further, we have then created the ability,
even if this limitation is in place, to allow for the correction of a
payment mistake as long as it occurs on the same day! And, of course,
due to our audit ability, in any case, both the original payments and
the reversals are all tracked!

ACH- while still probably
uncommon, a growing number of self storage customers are amenable to
setting up an automatic bank debit process in order to meet their
monthly payment obligation. While our credit card payment plan
accomplishes a similar objective, the cost to our owners is considerable
less with ACH.

Pin Debit- in conjunction
with our primary processing partner (Payment Processing, Inc. or PPI),
we now offer our customers the ability to have their customers swipe a
debit card and input a pin as a payment option. You will need to contact

FTP Report Batching-
Taking advantage of a powerful internet communications capability built
into your operating systems software, we now offer you the ability to
send your report batches via FTP rather than using email. While
requiring a person with technical skills to set this up, the
benefits are numerous. A full description is included in our updated
Owner’s Manual.

Delinquency- you may now
send delinquency letters to more than one alternate.
