DOMICO
Exciting Changes at DOMICO!!!

2010 has just begun, and what a great start it has been. First off, we'd like to announce that we are almost ready to release a major upgrade to our flagship product- to be called DOMICO 7. A key component is the new Auction Processing Module. Read more about it in the Noteworthy section below.

With a new decade, we felt that it was also time for a new website.  Check out the Announcement section below for more details.

As usual, we have a tech tip from one of our Client Support Technicians that should be very useful for our DOMICO users

Major Upgrade- DOMICO 7 in Field Testing

Our developers have been working hard on DOMICO 7. Our techs have deployed this latest upgrade to DOMICO Software to facilities for field testing. The results have been very positive. Here are what some of our DOMICO users are saying about the newest DOMICO Software upgrade:

  • "The newest version of DOMICO works great, is stable, and the auction tool saves us a lot of time." Wil Alderman, Storage Pro #15
  • "DOMICO lets me concentrate on customers and renting units rather than dealing with technical issues and being on the phone with tech support." Michael Smith, Midland Self Storage.
  • "Besides winning the Super Bowl, the DOMICO upgrade is the next big thing." Chris O'Neal, Dependable Storage - Jefferson Hwy
The most noticeable new functionality in DOMICO 7 is the Auction Processing Module. Many of our customers have been looking forward to this feature and we are happy to announce that it will be ready for them to use.

From our new Customer Information screen where you can enter a description of the stored goods, to auctioning off the stored goods, our new Auction Processing Module makes the steps faster and easier for DOMICO users. The Auction Processing Module will also allow for emailing  the Public Notice.

There are many, many new enhancements in this upgrade. For example, DOMICO users can now print mailing labels through the software and are able to email receipts to their customers. In addition, we've added time stamps to our Customer Notes and improved the Marketing Studies.

We feel that our customers will be very pleased. We've only mentioned a few of the new improvements. With the new upgrade of DOMICO Software, there are many other new enhancements as well. This upgrade is almost ready for release!

New DOMICO Website To Go Live

For the past few months, we have been working hard on creating a new website. We are very excited to unveil it to the public. DOMICO's new website will be scheduled to go live during the first week in March.

In the new website, you will notice a whole new design. It is more innovative and more animated than before, while still having all the typical functionalities. Our new website has more information about our products and what we are up to. We hope you'll love the new website: Stay tuned at www.domico.com.

    Preventive Maintenance- What is it?
    By: Megan McClellan

    • As we enter a new year, it’s time to look ahead to the future!  For many of you, the future holds Preventive Maintenance.

What is Preventive Maintenance?  It’s like a tune-up for your DOMICO Software.  DOMICO offers maintenance to our clients in an effort to keep their system running at peak levels and to detect any problems before they get out of control.  It is done once a year by the DOMICO Preventive Maintenance technician.  We remotely connect to the site’s computer via the internet to perform maintenance.  The entire process usually takes about an hour.

Approximately 1-2 months before a site is due for maintenance, the Preventive Maintenance technician will call a site to make an appointment.  Appointments are scheduled between our business hours of 8am-5pm, M-F, PST.  We will try our best to accommodate your schedule within those times.

    During Preventive Maintenance, we:
    • Make sure backup is functioning properly, and backing up to external media
    • Update DOMICO to the latest version (if necessary)
    • Clean up redundant DOMICO files
    • Perform database maintenance
    • Confirm contact information
    • Make any recommendations about improvements to hardware or other software to keep the system running safely and smoothly
In order to perform Preventive Maintenance on a site’s computer, we must be able to connect by high-speed internet connection.  Preventive maintenance can technically be done over a dial-up connection, but because of the slow connection speed, maintenance time can last several hours to an entire day.

When maintenance is finished, the Marketing Coordinator will send a letter to the owner and all those who are authorized decision makers with the maintenance details and recommendations.
