Message from the President - SSA National Board Election

It is my pleasure to announce that I am running for re-election for a seat on the National Self Storage Association Board of Directors. For the past three years it has been my honor to serve on the board of this premier national not-for-profit trade organization. As the self storage industry continues to grow and prosper, the success of this industry depends on strong leadership provided by the Self Storage Association.

The SSA has undergone a tremendous amount of growth and change in the last few years, and there is always more work to be done. For that reason I ask you to cast your vote for me in the upcoming election. I believe my experience and dedication to this organization will prove invaluable to the future growth and prosperity of the SSA.

My history with the Self Storage Association dates back more than 20 years. I joined the SSA in 1984, the same year I founded DOMICO software. Throughout the years I participated in various SSA Committees. I was elected to the Western Region Board, and I was eventually elected its president. Several years ago I also co-founded the California State Organization (CSSA).

The SSA is growing in size and sophistication. Today the Self Storage Association serves as the umbrella organization for 25 state and regional self storage associations in the United States. The SSA directly represents more than 2,750 member companies that own and operate tens of thousands of self storage facilities, not only in the United States, but also in fourteen countries around the world. These are exciting times, and I am committed to ensuring that this industry will flourish. In my last term an example of my work was to serve on a committee that assisted our CEO in developing a national health insurance program for all of our members.

I encourage all the members of the SSA to vote during these elections. If you are a member in the Western Region you should have already received a ballot with my name on it. Please vote. If you are not a member of the SSA I encourage you to become one and be an active participant in this exciting industry. The SSA is hosting its special 30th anniversary trade show and conference in Las Vegas next month. The show is going to include the inauguration of the Hall of Fame members who helped us grow in the beginning. Please attend.

September 19-20 | TMSA - The Texas Mini Storage Association's annual conference will be held at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center, right across the street from the Hilton Palacio del Rio San Antonio, TX. DOMICO will be exhibiting in Booth # 327.

Discount Tips
